The Town of Woolwich is seeking to create a citizens committee to develop an ordinance/zoning amendment to allow solar farms in the rural zone.Rural District solar farm sites would be selected where neither residences nor traditional agriculture are possible due to terrain or proximity to powerlines and will require the approval of the Select Board.  Revision of the articles would control size, location and scenic set back in the rural zone while permitting commercial solar farm development.

The Select Board will consider all applications submitted and form a five (5) person committee with two (2) alternates.
