What can I recycle ?
Plastic:
- Recycling #5 open top containers (yogurt, cottage cheese, strawberry baskets)
- Other plastic containers (milk, soap, juice, water)
- Rigid plastics with all numbers from 1 to 7 in the triangle (no Styrofoam)
Glass and Metal:
- Glass bottles and jars (any color, but please, no ceramics, window glass, light bulbs, or Pyrex)
- Steel, tin, and aluminum cans
- Clean aluminum pie plates, trays, and foil
- Aerosol Cans (empty)
Paper:
- Magazines & Catalogs
- Paperboard (cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, etc.)
- Hard and soft cover books
- Office paper & envelopes
- Shredded paper (in a clear bag)
- Junk mail
- Phone books
- Brown Bags
- Staples, paperclips, spirals, & plastic envelope windows are OK
- All newspapers & inserts
- Gift boxes & wrapping paper
- Paper plates (clean)
- Milk & juice cartons
- Drink boxes (juice, shelf milk, soy)
- Egg cartons (not Styrofoam)
Cardboard – note
- Please, corrugated cardboard only
- Please flatten all boxes
Pizza boxes (as long as they’re not greasy)
Following items are NOT accepted:
- Plastic bags
- Window glass
- Mirrors
- Light bulbs
- Dishes, pyrex, or ceramics
- Paper towels or facial tissue
- Styrofoam
- Recyclables containing food waste
- Paints, oils, or hazardous materials
- Needles or syringes
- VCR Tapes or CDs/DVDs
- Scrap metal, pots, or pans
