The Woolwich Climate Resilience Committee was formed in the summer of 2024 to help our town prepare for and respond to the local impacts of climate change, from extreme weather to rising sea levels. To enhance Woolwich’s resilience to climate impacts, we will develop and implement a comprehensive climate resilience action plan, driven by community insights and rigorous data analysis, and supported by strategic grant funding and partnerships.
Priority Areas / Projects
- We’ve re-enrolled in the Community Resilience Partnership, and have been awarded a $75,000 Community Action Grant.
- We will be conducting a community- and data-driven climate vulnerability assessment that will then inform a comprehensive climate action plan for the town.
- We will be hosting community events to solicit feedback, surface town values, and educate community members.
- We will also explore adding climate resilience to an updated town comprehensive plan.
